Erasmus+ Málta

2022. szeptember 9. és 19. között a Boronkay tizennégy tanulója egy máltai utazáson vett részt az Erasmus+ program keretében. 
      
Tizennégy fős csoportunk és két kísérő tanárunk – Gyombolai Ferenc tanár úr és Gyombolainé Cserny Zsuzsanna tanárnő – szeptember 9-én délután indult a budapesti repülőtérről Máltára. Két óra repülés után érkeztünk meg a szigetre, ahol leszállás után azonnal megcsapott minket a forró, párás, mediterrán levegő. A repülőtérről egyenesen a szállásadó családokhoz utaztunk. A körükben eltöltött tíz nap alatt lehetőségünk volt jól megismerni a máltai embereket, kultúrájukat, szokásaikat, és gyakorolhattuk az angol nyelvet. Vendéglátóink sokat segítettek nekünk: tanácsokkal láttak el a helyi közlekedéssel kapcsolatban, és elmondták, milyen nevezetességeket érdemes megnézni.

A hétvégéket kirándulással töltöttük. 10-én, szombaton Málta három legismertebb strandjára mentünk el. Az időjárás tökéletes volt a fürdőzéshez. Vasárnap Vallettába, Málta fővárosába látogattunk. Ebben a tengerparti városban sok történelmi emléket és gyönyörű épületet csodálhattunk meg.  

Hétfőtől péntekig, kora délutánonként angol nyelvű projektmunkában vettünk részt. Itt sok újat tanultunk a digitális világról, fejlesztettük az angol nyelvtudásunkat, különösen a digitális eszközökkel, informatikával kapcsolatos angol szókincsünket. Csoportban dolgoztunk, ezért sokat kellett egymással angolul kommunikálnunk.  
Hétköznap délelőtt és a projektmunka után, késő délután volt időnk megnézni Málta egyéb nevezetességeit. Ellátogattunk a Chinese Garden-be és a San Alton’s Garden-be, ahol sok, a magyar szem számára különleges növény található. Voltunk egy műhelyben, ahol kézzel készítettek színes üvegékszereket és üveg dísztárgyakat. Elutaztunk Mdinába, amely egy hangulatos máltai város, középkori emlékekkel. Megkóstoltuk a jellegzetes máltai péksüteményt, a pastizzit. Angol nyelvű idegenvezetőnknek köszönhetően sok érdekességet megtudtunk Málta történelméről.  
Szeptember 17-én, szombaton komppal átmentünk Gozo szigetére, ahol ellátogattunk a sziget fővárosába, Victoriába. 18-án, vasárnap Marsaxlokk halászfaluba utaztunk. Megcsodáltuk Málta természeti szépségeit: a gyönyörű homokos és sziklás tengerpartokat. 

Szeptember 19-én a csoportunk sok új élménnyel gazdagodva ért haza, Magyarországra. Mindegyikünknek nagyon tetszett Málta, és ez a tíz nap, melyet ott töltöttünk. Sok újat tanultunk, új tapasztalatokat szereztünk, új emberekkel, szokásokkal ismerkedtünk meg, s ezen idő alatt csapatunk egy nagyszerű közösséggé kovácsolódott.

Between the 9th and 19th of September, fourteen students from Boronkay took part in a trip to Malta, organized by Erasmus+. 
 

Our group of fourteen, and two attendant teachers – Mr. and Mrs. Gyombolai – took off from Budapest Airport on the 9th of September to get to Malta. After two hours of flying, we arrived at the island, where we were met with the hot, humid, mediterranean air. From the airport we went straight to our host families. Spending ten days around them gave us an opportunity to get to know the Maltese people, their culture and habits, and to practice our english. Our hosts helped us a lot: with the local transport, and with suggesting potential sights to see. 
 
We spent our weekends going on trips. On Saturday, the 10th of September, we went to see Malta’s three most known beaches. The weather was perfect for swimming. On Sunday we visited Valletta, the capital of Malta. We could admire plenty of historical monuments and appreciate the stunning architecture in this coastal city.  
 
From Monday to Friday we participated in English projects in the afternoons. Here, we learned a lot about the digital world and we improved our English skills, especially with vocabulary surrounding digital tools and IT. We were working in pairs, therefore we had to communicate with each other a lot in English.  
 
On weekday mornings and after our project work, in the late afternoons, we had time to go and see Malta’s other highlights. We visited the Chinese Garden and San Alton’s Garden, where we could find lots of extraordinary plants for the hungarian eye. We went to a workshop, where colorful glass jewelry and ornaments were being made by hand. We traveled to Mdina, a cozy Maltese city with medieval memorials. We had the opportunity to try out a traditional Maltese dish, the pastizzi. Thanks to our english-speaking tour guide, we received tons of interesting facts about the history of Malta. 
 
On the 17th of September, Saturday, we crossed the sea with a ferry, to Gozo island, where we stopped by the island’s “capital city”, Victoria. On the 18th of September, Sunday, we checked out Marsaxlokk, the fishing village. We admired Malta’s natural landmarks: the gorgeous sanded and rocky beaches. 
 
On the 19th of September, our group returned home to Hungary, richer with many new experiences. We all enjoyed Malta, and these ten days we got to spend there. We learned numerous new things, we acquired new experiences, we got to know new people and customs, while our group became an amazing community.
